Community Impact
- Supporting Great Southern artists
- Raising funds for Albany Community Hospice
- Connecting art, healthcare and community
The Art Lease Project has been part of GSSC since the doors first opened in 2018.
The initiative was originally created by Nat Rad, with GSSC becoming the first business to support the concept from its inception. Local artist Racquel Cavallaro now continues to drive and grow the model throughout the Great Southern.
Built around a simple idea, the project uses local spaces to showcase local artists while also giving back to the community.
Through rotating artwork displays across GSSC and other participating venues, the project helps create exposure and sales opportunities for Great Southern artists while also raising ongoing support for Albany Community Hospice.
When artworks are purchased, artists are paid directly, with 20% of the sale donated to Albany Community Hospice. GSSC then matches this contribution through a further direct donation to Hospice, helping create ongoing community impact through local art and creativity.
The result is a uniquely local project that connects art, healthcare and community in a way that continues to grow throughout the Great Southern.
