The Great Southern Specialist Centre supports the delivery of coordinated access to specialist medical services through professional support and exceptional facilities. We believe in the value of research and education to deliver improved medical outcomes in local communities.
The International Rural Surgical Education Fund (IRSEF) was established in 2023 and aims to support international surgeons, trainees and surgical health professional to improve the quality of surgical practice and benefit their own surgical communities.
The IRSEF offers funding to support one or more of the following benefits:

- Presentation opportunities
- Mentorship, leadership and networking opportunities
- Training and experience
- Professional development
