Dr. Nic Faint, a native of regional Queensland, embarked on his medical studies in Perth. His journey included various rural placements, notably at the Rural Clinical School in Kalgoorlie. After graduation, Dr. Faint began his career as a junior doctor and pursued psychiatry fellowship training through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). His relocation to Brisbane in 2022 marked the start of advanced training in certificates of addiction and consultation-liaison psychiatry, where he gained invaluable experience in addiction disorders, eating disorders, and perinatal disorders. Dr. Faint has extensive experience in the Western Australia and Queensland public healthcare systems, where he has worked as a radiographer and doctor.

Dr Faint has completed a Master of Public Health and is completing a Master of Health Services Management. He is an associate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Dr Faint has sat on multiple RANZCP Committees and currently sits on the RANZCP Rural, Regional, Remote Training Steering Committee Group and the Consultation—Liaison Psychiatry Mandatory Rotation Steering Group.

Given his background and work experience, Dr Faint has decided to settle in Albany and make it his home. He has knowledge and experience of the hardships and challenges facing Western Australian rural residents, which drives his passion and dedication to serving their needs. In his spare time, Dr Faint enjoys spending time with his dog Shadow.

Fees and Payment

Patients have the choice to be consulted at the Great Southern Specialist Centre where a private consulting fee (AMA Rates) is charged.

Fees will vary depending on the type of consultation. Please note you will receive a Medicare rebate

Bulk Billing or concessions are not available.

Payment Policy

The administration staff will be happy to advise you of the consultation fee upon booking an appointment.

Payment is required at the time of your consultation.

The administration team will process your Medicare claim online immediately after payment.

Dr Faint consults weekly on a Wednesday.

Please note his clinics are for adult (18+) patients and consultation fees apply.

Referrals are being accepted however not all patients are able to be offered an appointment.
