Dr Peter Honey grew up on a farm just west of Cranbrook and began his education at the local primary school before attending Albany Senior High School for a year. He then completed his secondary education in Perth and went on to study medicine at the University of Western Australia. He completed his orthopaedic training in Perth in 1989.
Peter pursued further subspecialty training in the United States, focusing on Hand and Microsurgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa, and Shoulder and Sports Injury Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston. During his time at Massachusetts General Hospital, he worked alongside the medical teams for Harvard’s athletic programs, the New England Patriots, and the Boston Bruins.
Upon returning to Perth, Peter established his orthopaedic practice, sharing rooms with colleagues Mr Michael Holt and Mr Peter Woodland. He has served as Head of Department at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and as Chairman of the Western Australian Orthopaedic Association. He currently holds appointments as a Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon at Perth Children’s Hospital and Fremantle Hospital.
Outside of Medicine, Peter enjoys spending time with his large family and maintains a property in the Porongurups. He is an active member of a walking group, participating in both local and overseas hiking expeditions.

Procedures
Dr Peter Honey undertakes the full spectrum of upper limb and knee orthopaedic procedures, not
limited to, though including:
- Carpal tunnel release, tendinitis surgery, Dupuytren’s surgery
- Joint replacement surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and knee
- Arthroscopic wrist, elbow, shoulder and knee surgery
- Treatment of sporting injuries (including knee ligament injuries)

Fees and Payment
Consultation fees vary depending on the type of consultation.
Dr Honey does not charge a booking fee for surgery but out of pocket costs will vary according to the health fund.
